IMPORTANT: SITE SAFETY – NO EXCUSES!
At Clarke Transport, SITE SAFETY is non-negotiable. When on-site, it is crucial to adhere strictly to our comprehensive SITE SAFETY protocols to ensure the well-being of all personnel. The following SITE SAFETY guidelines are mandatory:
* 24-hour CCTV in operation to monitor activities and enhance security
* Move to the designated strapping area to secure your load before leaving the site, ensuring that all loads are properly secured to prevent accidents
* Be aware of moving vehicles at all times; vigilance is key to preventing collisions
* All reversing vehicles must be accompanied by trained staff to guide them safely
* Maintain a strict speed limit of 5MPH to safeguard everyone on-site
* No smoking beyond designated points to eliminate fire hazards
* Remain in your vehicle until it’s safe to disembark; SITE SAFETY first at all times
* Use only specified platforms to access vehicles at height; this prevents falls and injuries
P.P.E. Requirements for this site:
✔ Full-Length Trousers to provide protection
✔ High Vis Clothing to enhance visibility for all workers
✔ Safety Footwear to protect against heavy loads
Our commitment to SITE SAFETY is unwavering; it is paramount that every individual takes these regulations seriously. We encourage everyone to be proactive in reporting any unsafe conditions immediately.
SITE SAFETY: A Shared Responsibility
Ensuring site safety goes beyond mere compliance; it is about cultivating an environment where everyone feels responsible for the safety of themselves and others. We organise regular safety workshops and hands-on demonstrations, enabling employees to engage with safety equipment and procedures. For instance, we might conduct a fire safety drill which not only tests our emergency response but also reinforces the importance of knowing evacuation routes.
Our dedication to SITE SAFETY is reflected in our continuous improvement efforts and training programmes.
By focusing on SITE SAFETY, we aim to prevent incidents and promote a culture of awareness.
Our approach to SITE SAFETY also includes gathering feedback from employees to enhance our practices.
Each audit reinforces our commitment to SITE SAFETY and allows us to implement the necessary changes.
Our digital resource centre is an essential tool for promoting SITE SAFETY across all levels of the organisation.
These sessions play a vital role in maintaining our focus on SITE SAFETY among all staff members.
We believe that open discussions about SITE SAFETY can lead to effective solutions and improvements.
These audits are not just a box-ticking exercise; they are integral to our operational strategy. In our recent quarterly review, we introduced a new system for documenting near-misses, which allows us to identify trends and prevent future incidents. Additionally, we actively involve our team members in the auditing process, nurturing a sense of ownership and accountability towards safety practices.
At Clarke Transport, SITE SAFETY is not just a priority; it is the foundation of our operations.
Furthermore, we invite external safety experts to review our practices, offering fresh perspectives and validating our approaches. The inclusion of expert opinions has helped us refine our strategies and adopt best practices from the industry. For example, feedback from a recent expert-led workshop prompted us to enhance our PPE guidelines, ensuring all employees are equipped with the latest safety gear.
In addition to the above protocols, we also carry out frequent safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards before they become an issue. These audits help us to continuously improve our safety measures and ensure compliance with industry standards. For instance, during our last audit, we discovered that some areas of the site could benefit from additional signage to remind drivers of the speed limit, which we have since implemented. This proactive approach has led to a noticeable decrease in speed-related incidents.
Your safety is our priority; hence, we have developed a comprehensive digital resource centre that employees can access at any time, providing information on safety regulations, protocols, and training schedules. This resource centre includes videos, infographics, and articles that are regularly updated to reflect the latest changes in safety legislation and best practices.
Furthermore, we conduct regular safety briefings and training sessions to ensure that all employees are well-informed about the latest safety practices and procedures. These sessions cover various topics including emergency response protocols, proper handling techniques for hazardous materials, and the importance of reporting near-misses to prevent future incidents. For example, a recent training session highlighted the necessity of proper lifting techniques, which can significantly reduce the risk of musculoskeletal injuries among our workforce. All staff are encouraged to actively participate in these sessions and share their insights to foster a culture of safety.
Moreover, we encourage feedback from all staff members regarding safety measures. This open-door policy not only helps us gather valuable insights but also empowers employees to voice their concerns and suggestions. Our commitment to a transparent dialogue about safety helps build trust and reinforces our collective responsibility towards maintaining a safe working environment.
